What is Ocvite?
Ocvite is an all-in-one digital event invitations platform. Create events, manage guests, send personalised invitations, track RSVPs in real-time, and handle venue check-ins with QR passes — all from one beautiful dashboard.
Is Ocvite free to use?
Yes! Sign up and start creating events for free. You get full access to core features including event creation, guest management, RSVP tracking, QR entry passes, and co-host management.
Does Ocvite work on mobile?
Yes. Ocvite is fully responsive and works on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop. No app download required; just open it in your browser.
Can I use Ocvite for any type of event?
Absolutely. Ocvite supports weddings, birthdays, corporate events, private gatherings, baby showers, anniversaries, and more. You can choose from a wide range of event categories and sub-categories when creating your event.
Is my data safe?
Yes. All data is stored securely. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt, sessions are protected with CSRF tokens, and sensitive actions require verification. We never share your personal information with third parties.
Can I sign in with Google or Facebook?
Yes. Ocvite supports social login via Google and Facebook. You can use your existing social account for a faster sign-in experience — no separate password needed.
Do I need to create an account to RSVP to an event?
No. Guests can RSVP to an event using their unique invitation link without creating an account. Only event organisers and co-hosts need to register.
How quickly can I set up an event?
Most events can be created in under 5 minutes. The step-by-step wizard guides you through basics, schedule, RSVP questions, design, and guest list — you can skip optional steps and come back later.
How do I create an event?
Click "Create Event" from your dashboard. The wizard walks you through 6 steps — basics (name, date, venue), schedule (sub-events), RSVP questions, design (banner, theme), guests, and review. Publish when ready.
Can I share a public link to my event?
Yes. Every public event gets a shareable link that anyone can open to view details and RSVP. You can find and copy it from the Event Settings section of your event.
Can I edit an event after publishing?
Absolutely. Open the event from My Events, click Edit, and update any details. Changes are reflected immediately for all guests who view the event page.
Can I make my event private?
Yes. When creating or editing an event you can set the privacy to Private. Private events are only visible to invited guests and are not listed publicly. You can also restrict access with a passcode.
What are sub-events?
Sub-events are individual sessions or activities within a larger event — for example, a Mehendi ceremony, Sangeet, and Wedding Reception within a wedding. Add them in the Schedule step; each can have its own date, time, and location.
Can I add custom RSVP questions for guests?
Yes. In the Questions step you can add custom fields — single choice, multiple choice, or text — such as meal preference, T-shirt size, or any other information you need. You can mark questions as required or optional.
How does QR-based entry work?
Each confirmed guest receives a unique QR entry pass via email. At the venue, the host or co-host opens the Scan page and scans the QR code to instantly verify and check in the guest.
Can I add a banner image to my event?
Yes. In the Design step you can upload a custom banner image or choose from the built-in banner library. The banner appears on your event page and in invitation emails.
Can I customise the event theme colour?
Yes. In the Design step you can pick a theme colour or gradient that is applied to your event card, invitation, and entry pass. This helps give each event its own visual identity.
Can I create an online or hybrid event?
Yes. When creating an event you can set the event mode to Online or Hybrid. For online events, add the meeting URL and it will be shared with confirmed guests in their invitation.
Can I set an RSVP deadline?
Yes. In the event settings you can set an RSVP deadline date. After this date, guests will no longer be able to submit or change their RSVP response.
Can I limit the number of guests?
Yes. Set a maximum guest count in Event Settings. Once the limit is reached, new RSVPs will be placed on a waiting list or blocked, depending on your settings.
Can I delete an event?
Yes. From your event detail page, go to Event Settings and choose Delete Event. The event is soft-deleted and removed from your dashboard. This action cannot be undone.
Will guests receive reminders about the event?
Yes. If you enable email reminders in Event Settings, guests will automatically receive reminder emails before the event date. You can also send manual reminders from the guest list.
What are the different host roles in Ocvite?
Ocvite has three event-level roles: (1) Host (Self) — the account owner who created the event and has full control. (2) Other Host — a person credited as the primary host on the event page, e.g. a spouse or client on whose behalf you are organising. (3) Co-Host — a helper who can manage the event alongside the owner but does not own it.
What does "Host: Self" mean?
"Host: Self" means you are organising the event for yourself. Your name and profile appear as the event host. You have full ownership — you can edit, delete, and manage every aspect of the event.
What does "Other Host" mean and when should I use it?
"Other Host" means the event is being hosted by someone other than your account — for example, you are a wedding planner organising an event on behalf of a couple, or a PA creating an event for your manager. The other host's name and contact details appear on the event page as the primary host, while you remain the account owner managing everything behind the scenes.
What is a Co-Host and how is it different from an Other Host?
A Co-Host is someone you invite to help manage your event — they get access to the event detail page and can view guests, send invitations, and check in attendees. An Other Host is a person whose name is displayed as the event's host on the public page. You can have both: an Other Host for branding and one or more Co-Hosts for operational help.
How do I add a Co-Host to my event?
Open your event, scroll to the Co-Hosts section, and click "Add Co-Host". Search for a registered user by name or email, or enter their details manually. They will receive an email invitation with a one-click Accept / Decline link.
How does a Co-Host accept or decline an invitation?
The co-host receives an email with a unique link. Clicking "Accept" grants them immediate access to the event. Clicking "Decline" removes the request. They can also respond from their own dashboard under the "Co-Host Requests" section.
What can a Co-Host do?
An accepted co-host can: view the full event detail page, manage the guest list, send and resend invitations, check in guests via QR scan, and view RSVP statistics. They cannot delete the event, change event ownership, or modify co-host settings.
Can I remove a Co-Host?
Yes. From the event detail page, find the co-host in the Hosts section and click Remove. They will immediately lose access to the event.
Will I be notified when a Co-Host accepts or declines?
Yes. You will receive an in-app notification in your dashboard as soon as the co-host responds to your invitation.
What happens if a Co-Host invitation is not accepted?
The invitation stays in "Pending" status. You can resend the invitation email from the Co-Hosts section of your event. Pending co-hosts do not have access to the event until they accept.
Can a Co-Host see all events I have created?
No. A co-host only has access to the specific event they were invited to. They cannot see your other events, your guest list, or your account settings.
How do I send invitations to guests?
After adding guests to your event, select them and click "Send Invitation". Each guest receives a personalised email with their unique RSVP link. You can also send via WhatsApp by copying the invitation link.
Can I track who has RSVP'd?
Yes. Your event dashboard shows real-time RSVP stats — confirmed, pending, and declined — so you always know who's coming. You can filter the guest list by status at any time.
Can a guest change their RSVP after submitting?
Guests can update their RSVP using the same invitation link as long as the RSVP deadline has not passed. Once the deadline is reached, responses are locked.
Can I resend an invitation to a guest?
Yes. From the guest list on your event page, find the guest and use the Resend Invitation option to send them a fresh invitation email with their unique RSVP link.
Can guests bring a plus-one?
Yes, if you enable "Allow Plus-Ones" in Event Settings. Guests can indicate how many additional people they are bringing when they RSVP. You can see the total headcount in your dashboard.
What are walk-in guests?
Walk-in guests are people who attend the event without a prior invitation. If you enable "Allow Walk-Ins" in Event Settings, you can add them on the spot from the guest list or check-in page.
What RSVP statuses are there?
Each guest invitation has one of four statuses: Pending (no response yet), Confirmed (accepted), Declined (rejected), or Maybe (tentative). You can filter and export guests by status.
How do I check in guests at the venue?
Use the Scan page (accessible from your event) to scan a guest's QR entry pass. The system instantly verifies and marks them as checked in. You can also manually check in guests from the guest list.
Can I collect dietary preferences from guests?
Yes. You can add a dietary preference question in the RSVP Questions step, or guests can enter it when they RSVP. The information is visible in the guest list for catering purposes.
How do I add guests to an event?
You can add guests in three ways: (1) manually enter name, email, and phone; (2) import a CSV file with bulk guest data; or (3) pick from your saved Guest List. All three options are available in the Guests step of event creation and on the event detail page.
Can I import guests from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Prepare a CSV file with columns for name, email, and optionally phone. Use the "Upload CSV" option in the Guests step to bulk-import your list in one go.
What is the Guest List feature?
Your Guest List is a personal contact book inside Ocvite. Save guests once and reuse them across multiple events — no need to re-enter details every time. You can also organise contacts into groups.
What is the Family Members feature?
Family Members lets you group related contacts (e.g. a household) under one entry. When inviting, you can select the whole family at once. Each member has their own name, relationship, email, and phone.
Can I organise guests into groups?
Yes. When adding or editing a guest in your Guest List, you can assign them to a group (e.g. "Office", "College Friends", "Family"). Groups make it easy to filter and bulk-invite specific sets of people.
Can I save guest birthdays?
Yes. Each guest and family member profile has a date of birth field. This helps you keep track of birthdays and personalise future event invitations.
How do I check in guests at the venue?
Use the Scan page (accessible from your event) to scan a guest's QR entry pass. The system instantly verifies and marks them as checked in. You can also manually check in guests from the guest list.
Can I add notes to a guest?
Yes. Each guest profile has a Notes field where you can record any relevant information — seating preferences, dietary needs, VIP status, or anything else useful for your event.
How do I change my password?
Go to your Profile → Change Password. Enter your current password and your new password twice to confirm. If you signed up via Google or Facebook, you may need to set a password first.
How do I change my email address?
Go to Profile → Settings → Change Email. Enter your new email address and submit. A verification link will be sent to the new address — click it to confirm the change.
Can I upload a profile picture?
Yes. Go to your Profile page and click on your avatar to upload a new profile photo. Supported formats are JPG and PNG.
How do I manage my notification preferences?
Go to Profile → Settings → Notifications. You can toggle email and in-app notifications for RSVP updates, co-host requests, event reminders, and other activity.
Is there a dark mode?
Yes. Click the moon/sun icon in the top navigation bar to switch between light and dark mode. Your preference is saved automatically.
Can I verify my phone number?
Yes. Go to Profile → Settings and add your mobile number. You will receive a one-time OTP to verify it. A verified phone number can be used for SMS reminders and account recovery.
What profile information can I update?
You can update your full name, profile picture, mobile number, date of birth, marital status, and bio from your Profile page. Email changes require a separate verification step.
How do I delete my account?
To request account deletion, please contact us via the Contact page. Our team will process your request and permanently remove your data within 7 business days. Note: deleting your account also removes all your events and guest data.
