Send the invite one-to-one or in a secret group, keeping it away from chats the birthday person can see.
A surprise party lives or dies on secrecy and timing, with every guest hidden in place before the birthday person walks through the door. Send a surprise birthday invitation privately to each guest, set an arrival time well before the big reveal, and track who has confirmed without anything leaking into shared family groups.
Send the invite one-to-one or in a secret group, keeping it away from chats the birthday person can see.
Separate guest arrival time from the reveal time, and add parking instructions so cars stay out of sight.
A reminder before the day refreshes the arrival time and reminds everyone to keep quiet.
See who is attending without asking around, which might tip off the birthday person.
Shh, it is a surprise. Join us for [Name]'s surprise birthday party on [Date] at [Venue]. Please arrive by [Time] sharp, before [Name] walks in. Keep it secret and RSVP by [RSVP date].
I am planning a surprise for [Name]'s birthday and you are part of it. Be at [Venue] on [Date] by [Time]. Park around the corner and stay quiet. Reply by [RSVP date].
Top secret: surprise party for [Name], [Date] at [Venue]. Arrive by [Time]. Do not post or mention it anywhere. RSVP by [RSVP date].
Choose any birthday template and put 'surprise' prominently in the title or wording. Add the venue, guest arrival time and reveal time in the details, then share the link privately with each guest or in a secret group the birthday person is not part of.
Guests need the arrival time, which should be well before the guest of honour arrives, the venue, where to park, and a clear request to keep it secret. Mention whom to contact if they are running late so they can sneak in without spoiling the moment.
Send them two to three weeks ahead, which gives guests time to plan without too many weeks of keeping a secret. A reminder the day before should repeat the arrival time and ask everyone to stay quiet on social media.
Because guests reply through the invite, you do not need to ask around or discuss numbers in shared chats. The Ocvite dashboard shows attending, not attending and maybe responses in real time, so the headcount stays with you and your co-planners.
Avoid posting in family groups they belong to, use a decoy plan like a quiet dinner, and ask one trusted person to bring them at the right time. Keep cars out of sight, dim the lights and assign someone to signal when they are minutes away.
Design it, send it and track replies — free with Ocvite.
